Alfred DWC 4-Plant System Instructions

Alfred DWC 4-Plant System Instructions

Your Alfred Horticulture DWC arrives with a pre-drilled hole at the base of its sidewall. This will hold the water level indicator that will allow you to easily inspect the water level of your DWC system. For ease of installation, lightly moisten the 1/2” grommet and then insert into the pre-drilled hole. Next, from the outside of the bucket, insert one side of the 90 degree elbow into the grommet with the opposing open end of the elbow facing up. Once the elbow is firmly seated, double-check that the grommet is evenly positioned on both the interior and exterior of the bucket. The ½” transparent blue tubing should now be installed on the open end of the elbow. The blue water level indicator tube should always point upwards, perpendicular to the ground, to avoid spills and accurately measure the water levels. Install the tube holder by removing the backing from the self-adhesive clip and placing it below the bucket lip, above and in line with the elbow. Insert the water level indicator tube into the tube holder

Attach one end of the Air Tubing length to one of the four Air Pump outlets and attach the other end to the Air Stone’s white plastic nipple. Place a connected Air Stone on the bottom of each bucket. Fill the 5 Gallon bucket with water, leaving a 2 inch space between the liquid and the bottom of the Net Pot. For best results, use clean and filtered water. Next, add the recommended nutrients to the bucket water, one at a time, in the folowing order: First the micro nutrient mix, followed by grow-nutrient mix, then bloom-nutrient mix. Do not premix the nutrient concentrates together. Install the Net Pot onto the bucket. Prepare the contents of the 2L clay pellet bag by rinsing them thoroughly. Once your seedling or cutting’s roots reach one inch long, they are ready to be transplanted into the clay pebble media. Start by filling the Net Pot 1/3 full with the prepared clay pebble media. Gently place your seedling upright into the net pot and fill to the top with clay pebbles surrounding the seedling. A portion of the plant should remain above the top line of media. Repeat this step for the remaining Air Tubing lengths. The Air Pump must be installed so that it is elevated above the height of the system at all times. This will prevent water from entering the Air Pump and damaging it

Position a lid clip at 3, 6, 9, and 12 o’clock on the bucket lid and clip them down to securely hold the lid in place. Plug in the Air Pump and you are ready to grow. The system will aerate the nutrient solution until it runs low. Check your bucket daily and refill it as needed.
